Day one of our Honeymoon and stay at the dreaded Dreams Puerto Aventuros Resort & Spa starts off with a 3 hour wait in a non air conditioned lobby filled with flies and ultimately LIES! After our 3 hour disgusting wait, we were escorted to the wrong room which was not the honeymoon suite we booked but a disgusting, dirty, dump!!! The room was filthy to say the least along with cracked ceilings, dirty sheets and pillowcases, and chipped paint everywhere! We paid for a honeymoon suite which we did not get and after being told we were being upgraded, with research found that we were actually downgraded. We were also supposed to receive the honeymoon package which included dinner on the beach, champagne, and breakfast in bed, none of which we received until a complaint was made. We then received HOT champagne, a disgusting dinner on the beach with fish that was so hard you needed a steak knife to cut it and we got a "deal" on a couples massage. We never received the breakfast. The food in all of the restaurants was not edible, during our stay we ate the bread & dinner rolls because that was the only thing remotely palatable. The room service was a joke even up until our last night. Half of the items on the menu were not available and the wait time, I won't even go there! The refrigerator in the room kept the drinks at a "cool" 60 degrees (obviously not in working condition) The safe stopped working and we had to have someone come and take it apart to get our things out of it. There were huge rat-like rodents that roamed around the hotel, restaurants, and on the beach. The beach was covered in seaweed and trash, so much that it made it difficult to get in the ocean. The night before we left, our "VIP" and "Honeymoon" banners were ripped off of our door. This place pays ZERO attention to detail & accommodating their over paying guests!! The best thing about this resort were the dolphins on site and that I was able to spend it with my wife. If you are considering staying at Dreams/Nightmares, I HIGHLY recommend that you rethink your options!
