I have always wanted to support local businesses and thought that Carpetright had a good reputation. I did read in advance the reviews on this store prior to going along and they weren't good at all, but, I went along just to have a look. I did say to the person working there that I had read some pretty poor reviews and was hoping that my experience would be different. My bedrooms had been decorated in time for Christmas and I was assured that my carpets would be fitted. How wrong was I? There seems to be a serious lack of communication between stores and NO ONE taking responsibility for their appalling service. The Ealing store is responsible for the carpet fitting and the carpet delivered into the Hammersmith store. You would think in 2017 with the development of technology that this would be any easy process. WRONG. I had to sleep on a sofa bed in my lounge for Christmas and could not invite anyone round for celebrations. After many heated telephone conversations and lots of 'blame game' calls my carpets were fitted. Only after them leaving did I discover that the bars I had ordered and paid for were the wrong colour. It has taken many months to get them swapped over and this was after taking a day off work and them not turning up as arranged. When the carpet fitter came to do this job I asked him to remove his trainers so not to mark my beautiful cream carpet, he did not do this, instead he thought that by kneeling down with the tips of his trainers resting on the carpet would suffice, NO. He left four big black marks on my carpet. It was just another reason NEVER to use this company again. I have been offered a measly £50 compensation, which I am disputing currently. I am now writing to their CEO as their staff either need to be better trained or fired
