We had a damp problem in a building due to a leaky roof and have booked and paid for 2 surveys with Tapco, one internal and one external with Skypoles. They only came back with one survey saying the problem was internal and only due to condensation (that was wrong). There was no mention at all of the roof or any images taken with skypoles. I sent them an email asking for the external survey, mentioning some points raised during that survey as I was there to meet their team in person. They literally copy and paste the content of my email into their survey. I couldn’t believe how unprofessional they were, it was shocking! So I challenged them again as there was still no pictures at all and nothing else that my words in their “updated” survey. They never sent us back the external survey that we pay for. They only survey what they can quote and overcharge you. The fact that there is a quote for remedial work attached to the survey show their intention, they are not independent. In our case, they quoted us over 5K to install 2 vents and some plasterboards, which is ridiculous and double what is really cost. In the end, I had to hire a proper independent surveyor who confirmed that the roof was the problem and by the time we had the scaffolding up, the roof was in such state of decay and leaking everywhere, that it cost us over £ 25K to fix it. Don’t waist your time with Tapco and hire a proper surveyor such as Albright surveyor, as they are RCIS regulated, for an honest and professional opinion. Tapco is such a waste of time and money.

I simply do not know what happened. When I first contacted the company, they were so nice and helpful. However, after the work was completed I wanted to inform them about the problem so I contacted them, and thinking that I'd have the same friendly experience, was shocked. They were rude and made offensive comments.
