Review about Edlets
We booked a flat through Edlets for New Year. However, when we arrived at the flat, not only was it absolutely filthy (pubic hair all over the beds, bathroom, kitchen / mould in the bathroom / balls of hair and dust and nail clippings all over the floor / all the cutlery and plates and pots and pans in the flat were covered in old food) but that there was no WiFi and all the bedding was missing from one of the beds (pillow and duvets included). When we called the Host, we were told that they could not do anything about it as they were away for the weekend and that we should call Edlets. We called Edlets, the man who answered the phone was very belligerent and defensive, who told us it was nothing to do with them and it was our fault! Eventually, the Host offered us (through Edlets – again, the man was incredibly belligerent) to send someone with the bedding at the cost of £112+ or that we should buy our own. Since it was cheaper to buy our own bedding we did so. We were told that in order to complain we had to within 24 hours. We did complain about the bedding, the rude treatment by Edlets, and the dirty state of the flat. Since they refused to reply or move us, we had to clean the flat ourselves as it was New Years and nowhere else was available at a reasonable price. It took 2 weeks to get a response! They claim they do nothing but provide listings and have nothing to do with the flats – yet they take a huge cut of the price! Do not waste your money. They are rude, they are aggressive, they provide rubbish and filthy accommodation, and will ALWAYS side with the Host! After doing our research we have found out they do this all the time – and have written their T&Cs in order to get away with anything they want! So, do yourself and favour and save some money and AVOID when looking for a holiday let in Edinburgh – don’t let your experience of the beautiful city be destroyed by Edlets!
