I waited years to purchase the gorgeous Ariat Terrain H2O boots. When selecting my size, I rang 'The Stable Door' specifically to check what the 'C' stood for after the usual US sizes. The lass on line was short with me, but said 'C' stood for the width and 'C' was NORMAL width. 'C' was the only width choice offered at this store. When I received the boots, they felt big, but I presumed the boots didn't suit my foot, and wore them anyway, although I was extremely disappointed. Later, a friend who had also bought a pair at another outlet mentioned the various width choices. On further investigation on several sites, I found that 'C' is indeed a WIDE fit and 'B' is NORMAL. When I rang to complain, a lass again said 'C' was, but eventually said no, it was WIDE fit. I felt I deserved some recompense; return or offer of discount, but was refused by both The Stable Door, and Ariat, on the strength that I had worn them. I feel this is shoddy treatment as I was meticulous about enquiring about the correct size and was definitely given the wrong information.
