My husband and myself were really pleased with our room and the excellent service given to us by staff. When we enquired about parks we could go to, the general manager herself arranged for a staff member to walk us to the park (250 hectare work in progress) The garden/park is fantastic to walk through. We also had the best meal at the Chinese Restaurant 2nd floor at the Chengdu Holiday Inn, the staff helped us with our selection and the food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost as well. I recommend this hotel for people staying at Chengdu.

5/24/2017 This location was under heavy construction when we arrived, despite their claims at reservation that all would be completed before our reservation. We had reserved 9 rooms for a family function for the entire weekend. Grounds were cluttered with construction equipment, pool was empty and unprotected. Entire place was dusty--air unbreathable. Dangerous for the 5 kids in our group and several senior citizens. Complaints to hotel and to Intercontinental Hotels Group were unheeded. amenities that are advertised were not available at all. One room had old food in the refrigerator. Needless to say, when enough of us gathered at the site, we decided to leave. This hotel, if you can call it that, is not a place to stay! Management must be desperate to not close during construction. All the people who I saw while we gathered our group and decided where to go next left as well. Based on this experience, I will certainly never stay there, and seriously question other Holiday Inns as well, based on the lack of support of our complaint. To date, we haven't as much as an apology from them!
