Review about Rentalcars
Customers - avoid Rentalcars like the plague! They ripped us off big time! They added an extra 50% to the car rental charge and did everything they could to hide it. We only found out when we upgraded our rental car. They charged us €225 for car rental charge. 12 hours after booking with them online, we got to the airport in Gran Canaria and it turns out that Sixt (the car rental company) had been renting the same car for only €155 for weeks (same car, same duration). This is available to any member of the public without reservation. So was not a special rate for brokers as Rentalcars tried to claim. Rentalcars simply pocketed 50% of our money for doing nothing (I could have gone direct to the Sixt website and saved myself the money). We spoke to Rentalcars for 2 hours (and then emails for 10 days) to refund us but they refused. One customer service manager asked me, "how do you expect us to make our money?" Surely not by taking 50% commission by stealth from unsuspecting customers for doing nothing (I call that "service" stealing). Customers beware: you are better off booking directly with a rental car company than going through Rentalcars.
