I love smartphones but I don’t like depending on them. Yes, they have powerful hardware and all sorts of bells and whistles, but it’s hard to rely on a phone with a battery that only lasts a day or two if you’re lucky. That’s why I love Fanmi’s phone lineup, even though I’m not technically a senior yet. Well-designed feature phones make for great backups to have around, and the presence of an SOS button on most Fanmi’s phones is also welcome. If all you have in your house is smartphones, you really should consider what you’ll do if for some reason the grid goes down for a week.
