Review about Lime Cafe Caribbean Restaurant Luton
Yet again I am disappointed at the awful quality af yet a Caribbean restaurant who profess to be authentic...we decided to order a takeaway from the Lime Cafe Caribbean restaurant on Gordon st Luton. We normally go to Moziah' 's which in my view is far superior to this & the only reason we did not have a takeaway from Moziah are that their takeaway portions are very small & do not Warrant the cost...Back to lime , when you are Caribbean yourself & know what the food should taste like the disappointment is greater when the food is not up to standard ; firstly rice & peas should be cooked in the juice of peas you have Cooked , not just throw in tin peas & add cheap rice..that is not how our rice & peas are Cooked..please do not deny Lime as I and anyone from a Caribbean background can tell the difference. The curry mutton was undercooked & about 5 pieces of meat which cost £6.00 for a large & very tasteless. I should have had an Indian takeaway from my favourite Rea Chilli Restaurant , Wellington St. but fancied my own cuisine but yet again wasted my money on a Caribbean restaurant who do no provide quality food, hence why so many Caribbean restaurants businesses close down due to poor quality & never consistency in the production & taste. The portions are terrible compared to other takeaways such as Indian take away who I may add use expensive rice basmati lamb & always have consistency in their taste as for their portion size van feed two people easily . I am fed up with the poor quality of food being produced by so called Caribbean restaurants ( apart from Moziahs) Then us as Caribbean complaint about us not supporting our own businesses ; but these are the reasons why after a bad experience we will not return again. Poor quality products and standards. The we wonder why other nations take our cuisine example Turtle Bay ; Rum Bar are successful over them because they have consistency in taste quality & freshness very sad for me to say this as I am Caribbean & it grieves me to have to slate a Caribbean restaurant but the truth is the truth..Please anyone who owns a Caribbean restaurant please provide Caribbean cuisine you yourself would eat & if you cannot cook with the authecitity then do not provide the service or you will fail just like so many. Take heed please this is constructive criticism that I am sure true Caribbeans will agree with my comments
