DON'T EVER USE HOTELS.com!!!!! They they charge your card upfront. they tell you that they'll be no penalty for charge if you cancel within a certain time but I canceled in that time. Then I was told that they charge the card but not not to worry because they issue a refund (takes 3 to 7 days later). Best stations and other places and even many other hotels do an initial credit card check verification and the charge only use charge back up on that check in. So I don't understand why they can't just drop the charge and put it through as $.0. It's irritating enough that they have to charge the amount of the card front. I've tried to talk to customer service multiple i've tried to talk to customer service multiple times and once I explain why am calling the phone disconnects. When my husband called back in and the teller said the computer system was shut down, so they couldn't make any changes or look into anything. I agree with other, nurse that said that the call center must be in another country. The customer service is just horrible. Another shame was, when I called the hotel directly to verify they didn't show any record of anything and they had the room and was actually at a cheaper price. DON'T EVER USE HOTELS.com

I booked a hotel they hotel.com for 2 nights!! Me n my family traveled from out of town to check in and find out that the hotel ROADWAY INN SOUTH IN SANDUSKY OHIO keycard system crashed and they had no idea when it would be up and running!Ppl were coming down and complaining about no water and dirty rooms!!! After waiting for over two hours we left! I called hotels.com and asked for a refund, they kept hanging up on me! Then someone promised to call me back and didn't! I called them back and They pretended to help me and put me on hold, they hung up and I called right back to get a message that they were now closed, ***!!! They told me it's all on the hotel and not them, I called the hotel and they told me the opposite!! I work very hard for my money and I demand a refund!!!

We stayed once and really were the only ones there, never saw any other people at the inn and it was the middle of July which surprised us. We tried again last month and still it was just strange. You really don't get checked in you just get a key on your door. The bathroom was dirty and hair in the sink. And the oddest thing is, the website talks about Corkys bistro but there is no bistro on site. We never really saw anyone know staff or anyone. There is a tasting room there, but they don't seem to be related to the inn

Hotels.com advertised a rate of $89 per night. I booked the room and then saw a total of 242.90. Apparently there was about $150 in taxes and fees. I contacted Hotels.com within 15 minutes (21 May 2017)to dispute this and cancel the reservation. They said those taxes were disclosed, I never saw them prior to booking and now the hotel is going to charge a $48.58 (20%) cancellation fee, which I will dispute with my credit card company. Any taxes and fees should be clearly outlined and disclosed by Hotels.com prior to booking. This type of advertising approaches false advertisement when excessive taxes and fees are not clearly displayed. the cancellation fee was disclosed clearly by Hotels.com, not the taxes and fees.

BEWARE - I booked a Hotel with breakfast included which is shown on hotels.com first page - be sure to check when you go to book the hotel that breakfast is still being included. In our case it wasn't, the hotel could not be booked on this site as room only, when we arrived at hotel we had to then take this up with hotels.com. Don't expect to receive a favourable reply from hotels.com - you'll find the reply is your wrong and you will be thanked for your understanding. On another note the price guarantee is not honoured, this same booking went down by £35 with the same company hotels,com when I queried this I got nowhere! BEWARE
